Governor Bello performs ground breaking ceremony for 5.6km Idah -Agenebode bridge


Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has performed the official ground breaking ceremony for the 5.6km Idah -Agenebode bridge, a project which is a Public Private Partnership venture.

The event which held on Saturday had the Governor accompanied by The Deputy Speaker of the Fed House of Representatives, Rt Hon Ahmed Wase, His Excellencies Sani Abubakar Bello of Niger, Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa, Mai Malla Buni of Yobe, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara and Barr M.A. Abubakar former Governor of Bauchi State.

Governor Bello explained that the bridge which linked Kogi State to one of its neighbours Edo would help to increase inter state economic relationship and easy mobility of goods, produce and services between both states.

He also pointed out that such effort would further boast interstate security collaborations as security agencies from both states could have joint efforts in tackling any concern on security.

While reiterating that the project was fully a public private partnership effort he urged other well meaning private institution and organisations to take a cue from such gesture and replicate same within their environment

The Governor affirmed that on completion, the project would improve economic activities of the states and the nation at large.

Speaking at the ground breaking event, the Atta of Igala Kingdom and president Kogi State Traditional Council, Dr Michael Idakwo Ameh Oboni II eulogised the governor for several developmental trajectories his administration has brought to the state.

The royal father also praised the governor for being a detrablised leader whose keen concern and focus has been the overall growth and development of every part of the state without leaving any area unattended to.
