Embattled Kogi Deputy Governor Sets To Announce Defection To PDP

The Kogi State Deputy Governor, Elder Simon Achuba, after several hide and seek, denial and silence, is set to dump the All Progressive Congress for the Peoples Democratic Party.

The defection to the PDP by the Kogi State Deputy Governor follows what an impeccable Nigerian Post source describes as the refusal by the Kogi State government to accept and approve the resignation of the embattled Deputy.

Simeon Achuba, the leader of PDP in the North central, Bukola Saraki and the Party’s Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar have therefore advised the deputy governor to adopt a fresh strategy by announcing his defection to PDP through a world press conference likely to hold this weekend.

According to the source, the PDP says it would thereafter continue the remaining battle for the Deputy Governor.

According to the source who is one of the leader of the PDP from Kogi State who was present at the meeting, “the leadership of the PDP will take over the fight, if Kogi state government refuses to approve the resignation of Achuba”.

The rumors of the Deputy Governor’s moves to defect was so strong on the media yesterday, even though, Sylvester Akor, spokesman of the Deputy described it as a mere rumor.
