Fayose arrives Lagos Court, to commence 2.2bn trail

Former Governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose, has arrived the Federal High Court, Ikoyi, Lagos.

The ex-governor reportedly arrived around 8.30am, in a White Toyota Hiace bus with an Abuja number plate: BWR-630AT, in company of officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and officers of the Nigerian Police Force, TheCable reports.

Fayose is set to be arraigned for an alleged fraud of N2.2bn.

The Former Ekiti State Governor who voluntarily reported at the EFCC head office in Abuja after his handing over, is being arraigned on an 11-count charge.

The charges include receiving illegal monies to fund his 2014 governorship campaign in Ekiti state and benefitting from proceeds of money laundering.

Fayose will be arraigned before Justice Mojisola Olatoregun on 11 counts bothering on financial fraud and embezzlement.
