Buhari fulfills his promise, inagurates Social Intervention Program in Jigawa

President Muhammadu Buhari said that his administration will make sure  it does not fail Nigerians and Will continue fighting against corruption and insecurities across the country.

The president made the statement yesterday at a mammoth gathering at Malam Aminu Kano Triangle, Dutse as part of activities of two days official visit to Jigawa state.

He explained that he is always sleeping with masses in his heart and assured that his administration will continue doing its best to cater for yearnings and aspirations of all Nigerians.

President Buhari, said that, his government ‎is committed to came up with policies and programs that will promote economic development and well being of Nigerians.

He commended Nigerians for embracing farming as a means of self reliance especially rice farming in country.

He said rice importation was reduced drastically by 90% and had improved production of local rice.

President Muhammadu Buhari had also inaugurated the Jigawa State social intervention program committee which is aimed at improving the lives of people at the grassroot in the state.

The president presented cheque of N170m Social intervention fund to chairman of the committee for the month of April which was approved by the state house of Assembly last months.

The Jigawa state government has introduced the special social intervention fund were N50,000 to N100,000 thousand will be given to all the 3527 polling units each month for 287 ward across the state for conduct of minor problems in their areas.

The Jigawa State governor Alhaji Muhammadu Badaru Abubakar in his welcome address explained that the special social intervention funds was introduced in the state in order to elevate the living standard of citizens.

He explained that the money will be used to take care of all the Minor problems at ward level including, boreholes maintenance, minor schools maintenance and mosques,as well as conveyance of pregnant women to the hospitals.

He said the move is to simplifies the process of reporting minor issues to government that may escalates before following government protocols.

Governor Badaru also revealed that his administration had spend over N51 million on 71 road projects from 2015 to date across the state including regional roads,township roads and feeder roads.

He added that over N666million was spend on electrification rehabilitation and new projects across the state.

He urged Jigawa State people to continue supporting the APC administration coming up 2019 general election.
