Wife declares husband missing in Lokoja , By Yabagi Mohammed


Middle-aged woman, Mrs. Bridget Yusuf, has declared her husband, Yusuf Abubakar, missing.

Mrs Yusuf, who walked into the newsroom of The Graphic newspaper looking dejected and helpless, narrated to our reporter her husband of about 20 years, went missing since the 31st of May, 2017.

She said on that fateful day, her husband had told a neighbour that he was going to the Lokoja Branch of Ecobank Limited, located at Ganaja Junction, to deposit some sum of money belonging to his boss simply identified as Kabiru who resides in Abuja.

According to the wife, who was accompanied for this interview by her mother-in-law, Yusuf is Bassa-Nge by tribe and originates from Kpata village in Bassa Local Government Area of Kogi State.

She said her husband, before now, has never left the house since his relocation from Imo to Lokoja, saying that she found it strange that her husband could leave the house like that without returning home.

The wife, teary and dejected, noted that the husband’s phone number has been switched off since the night of that day, saying she has been to the bank to verify whether he even got there on that day before his vanishing.

She also informed the Graphic that she has gone to the A’ Divisional Police Station in Lokoja to lodge a Missing Persons’ Report and appealed to members of the public to assist the family in locating her husband’s whereabouts.

Also speaking, the mother, Malama Nana Abubakar, who wondered why anyone would even think of kidnapping her son, called on anyone with any knowledge of his whereabouts to come forward with the information.
